4th Session of 14th CPPCC National Committee to Convene in Beijing from March 4 to 11

BEIJING, March 3, 2026 The 4th Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China’s top political advisory body, will be held in Beijing from March 4 to 11, 2026, Liu Jieyi, spokesperson for the session, announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

The session is set to open at 3 p.m. on March 4 and conclude on the morning of March 11. During the meeting, national political advisors will listen to and deliberate on the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and the report on the handling of political advisors’ proposals.

They will also attend the 4th Session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature, as non-voting participants. At the NPC session, which kicks off on March 5, the advisors will hear and discuss key documents including the government work report, and deliberate on the draft of the 15th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development.

In addition, the political advisors will review and adopt a political resolution of the session, resolutions on the work report of the CPPCC Standing Committee and the handling of proposals since the previous session, as well as a report on the examination of new proposals submitted at this year’s session.

The 2026 CPPCC National Committee session will feature opening and closing ceremonies, group meetings and sector-specific consultations. Foreign diplomatic envoys in China will be invited to observe the opening and closing ceremonies of the session.
